Sherri Cavan Small 1-of-a-Kind Signed, Glazed & Painted Male Torso Hard Clay Sculpture Brutalist Monogrammed on the underside of the thigh. Biography is from www.sherricavan.com. It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to offer this hard clay sculpture by one of California's most famous & respected sculptors- Sherri Cavan. Cavan recently died in 2016 and this sculpture comes from her estate, as do all of the sculptures by her that I am currently offering. When Cavan died, it was a great loss to California & American art! She sculpted for more than 30 years and participated in more than 40 exhibitions, for which she won many awards. Her expressive clay busts and portraits have earned her a special place in history alongside Beatrice Wood, Robert Arneson, and Ruth Asawa, among other famous contemporary sculptors! Condition: Good, overall condition. Does not stand on its own Measurements: shops 4.7" by 2.5" by 2".
