Stone polished and slip painted with local brown and white colors. The black "clouds" are typical of firing in an open shops pit with wood and bark. This is a great example of hand made Peruvian folk art pottery that was usually unsigned and sold to tourists. Peru Chicken pottery is rare and hard to find. Lots of color and textural interest. This is an NOS New Old Stock item from a shop in Santa Fe, NM, that closed around 1985 and has been in storage since then. See the photos. Circa late 1900s. Peru. Approx. 5.75" Tall X 8" Long X 5.5" Wide at the Widest. Good vintage NOS New Old Stock condition circa 1980s. Some signs of age and storage including rubbing wear, marks, scratches shelf wear, dirt and dust. It has a nice overall aged patina. It has the impe.
