First edition, second printing hardcover shops copy of The Lays of Beleriand by J.R.R. Tolkien (Houghton Mifflin, 1985). Volume three in The History of Middle Earth - a series edited by Christopher Tolkien, collecting and arranging his father's writings on various aspects of the world, history and lore of the land in which The Lord of the Rings trilogy takes place. Some scuffing to jacket which was at one point glued to endpapers causing discolored residue and some slight tearing to endpapers and jacket liner flaps. Shelf wear around the edges. Boards are straight and clean but with corners and spine ends bumped and small faint stain to bottom end of spine. Binding is tight and spine is straight.
