This is a beautiful shops mid console antique tube radio from the chieftain brand, model CX from Chicago Illinois. This console displays the five tubes which are missing on the front of the console directly below the output of the built-in horn. The horn driver and speaker Horn are intact and built into the cabinet. The radio has an output phone jack for headphones. The wood is in remarkable shape with a few scratches. The veneer has warped at the front left corner but is only visible when you're close to it. Please see detailed photos. This piece is suitable for displaying. The cabinet is 16 in tall at the back with a flat surface that is 9 in by 22 in. The depth of the entire radio is 21 in. the radio is 23 in wide. This unit is serial number 8916. It includes a paper sticker from standard tire company which claims to be an expert on radio and tire service. Things must have been very interesting in the 1920s.
