This is a Goebel Leaded Crystal Merry-Go-Round Carousel themed candy dish with a circus tent lid with scalloped edges. The carousel animals have a frosted glass finish and feature an elephant, rooster, horse, and swan. The cobalt blue color is extremely RARE and VERY hard to find. The majority of available dishes in this design are clear crystal and a few are yellow or amethyst. This is a must-have for both Goebel and cobalt blue glass collectors alike. There is a discrete Goebel maker's mark on the bottom of the dish. Don't let the photos fool you - this is a very large and heavy dish. It is definitely a conversation piece and deserves a worth display spot where it will get noticed. Measurements: 8.5” tall w/ lid; 3.5” tall w/o lid 7” diameter. Weighs 6.2 pounds Flaws - none noted With vintage items, I don't like to use “like new” because I assume they were used, but this dish is in excellent used condition.
